Where and Why?
Work to carry out essential carriageway resurfacing to a 3.3Km section of the A55 westbound carriageway between A55 J33 (Northop) and A494 St David’s including all adjacent slip roads. Intermittent works will commence on the 17/05/2020 for 3 weeks.
Diversions and Safety Measures
The essential works will be carried out over a 3 week period commencing on Sunday (17/05/20) at 06:00hrs until 06:00 hrs Monday (08/06/20).
Intermittent full closures and lane closures on the A55/A494 in both directions between J33 of the A55 (Northop) and St David’s Interchange of the A494 will be implemented.
The work is scheduled to begin on 17 May and is programmed to last for three weeks, the work will consist of three weekends of 24 hour continuous working with a full carriageway closure from A55 J33 (Northop) to A494 St David’s with diversions in place. During the week there will be full overnight A55/A494 closure with diversions. A full closure allows work to be carried out on both lanes at the same time, reducing the amount of time needed to complete the work but every effort will be made to finish ahead of schedule if that is possible.
Week night closures will be between 18:00 – 06:00.
All traffic will be diverted to exit at either Deeside Park Interchange or J33 Northop and follow the diversion routes as signed.
Works carried out when traffic flows are lower to reduce impact on road users & will be delivered in line with the guidelines.
