Work to carry out essential drainage and structural repairs at the Alders, adjacent to the A4042 Northbound carriageway between Crown Roundabout and Turnpike Roundabout will commence on 02/05/2023 until 26/05/2023 (Monday to Friday working only, excluding Bank Holidays).
The work will be carried out utilising lane closures during the day between the hours of 9:30am and 3:30pm (Monday to Friday only, excluding Bank Holidays).
Two total closures of the A4042 Northbound between Crown Roundabout and Turnpike Roundabout will be required to provide the necessary safety zones for these works.
The road will be closed overnight between 8pm and 6am on both the 4th of May 2023 and the 12th of May 2023.
Traffic travelling northbound on the A4042 from Crown Roundabout to Turnpike Roundabout will be diverted southbound on the A4042 at Crown Roundabout to Croes-y-mwyalch Roundabout, head east on the A4042 to Rougemont Roundabout, and continue north on the A4051 Cwmbran Drive to Cwmbran Roundabout. Traffic will then be diverted southbound on the A4042 to Turnpike Roundabout.
