Where and Why?
Work to carry out alteration works to the One Way system in Welshpool will start on 29th April 2019 and last around 10 weeks. The works entail the realignment of kerbs and footways, changes to road markings and the restoration of 2-way traffic flow along a section of Brook Street. At varying times, the works will affect Broad Street, High Street, Jehu Road, Brook Street, Church Street, Church Bank, Salop Road and Mill Lane.
Diversions and Safety Measures
Traffic management, signing and guarding will be used at various stages during the works and every effort will be made to minimise disruption to pedestrians, drivers and businesses, especially around the two Bank Holiday weekends.
The works will see the lane from the B4381 Brook Street into the A458 Church Street permanently closed off and, upon completion, will restore two-way traffic flow along Brook Street.
There will be some night-time works with a closure along the A458, Church Bank to Salop Road, when traffic flows are lower to minimise disruption. Necessary due to the restricted room available to do the works.
Programme of traffic management restrictions
Advanced signing of closure dates, will be erected on site ahead of any closures.
