A470 Resurfacing Works under Night Time Closure

Share

Where and Why?

The work is being carried out along three lengths of the A470 between Caersws and Cemmaes Road:- Commins Coch to Cemmaes Road; Penlan Bends just south east from Carno and Pontdolgoch Bridge (time permitting).  The work is being carried out at short notice due to the failing carriageway surface that the recent wet weather has only served to worsen.  The work will be done under several night time closures on safety grounds given the narrow nature of the A470.

Diversions and Safety Measures

The diversion route for the night closures will be:- in a south-easterly direction on the A470 to Caersws, east on the A489 to Newtown, north easterly on the A483 to Welshpool, west on the A458 to Mallwyd, south on the A470 to Cemmaes Road/Carno/Pontdolgoch and vice versa.  The diversion route will be signed as appropriate.
