** Please Note**
With the poor forecast and to avoid any unnecessary disruption to the public, the works have now been postponed until Tuesday 13th August with completion of the resurfacing by Thursday 15th August. Therefore, there will be no night time closures this week.
Where and Why?
The work is being carried out along the A470 between Commins Coch and Cemmaes Road in Powys. The work is being carried out at short notice due to the failing carriageway surface that the recent wet weather has only served to worsen. The work will be done under several night time closures on safety grounds.
Diversions & Safety Measures
The diversion route for the night closures will be:- in a south-easterly direction on the A470 to Caersws, east on the A489 to Newtown, north easterly on the A483 to Welshpool, west on the A458 to Mallwyd, south on the A470 to Cemmaes Road and vice versa. The diversion route will be signed as appropriate.
