Work to carry out the construction of a new footway link adjacent to the southbound carriageway starting near Meithrinfa Twts Tywi Nursery extending 250 metres to the northern edge of the community. Works will commence on 05/01/2026 for 9 weeks.
A single lane (southbound) on the A40 will be closed for the first three weeks to ensure road-user safety. Once the first phase is completed and when safe, the lane will reopen at the end of each shift, with traffic management in place from 08:00–18:30.
Welsh Water plan to undertake essential upgrades to their apparatus in the area from early February to April 2026, primarily on the Local Authority Network. Work on the Trunk Road will take place following completion of the footway improvement scheme.
The works are being carried out in January and February when traffic flows are historically lower to minimise disruption.
