Traffic Wales is the bilingual traffic information service for motorways and trunk roads in Wales.
The service informs and educates road users by sharing daily travel updates and safety advice.
Traffic Wales is the public link to the Welsh Government's Traffic Management Centres in Conwy and Cardiff. Traffic Management Centre operations, have a significant positive impact on the effective management of the road network. Operations include monitoring traffic conditions, posting messages to roadside information signs and running the Welsh Government's Traffic Officer Service.
The service is delivered by the Trunk Road Agents in Wales. Cooperation between the Agents enables the service to operate effectively around the clock, every day of the year.
Both trunk road agents manage, maintain and improve the strategic road network on behalf of the Welsh Government. Their work helps to make journeys in Wales safer, smoother and more reliable.
Traffic officers, are deployed in North Wales and South Wales on key strategic routes. They patrol the network 12 hours a day, 7 days a week and are at the frontline of keeping you safe.
Operations staff support Traffic Officers by monitoring the network and setting signs to warn of hazards.
