Traffic Wales is the Welsh Government's traffic information service for motorways and trunk roads in Wales.
The service is delivered by the North and Mid Wales Trunk Road Agent (NMWTRA) and South Wales Trunk Road Agent (SWTRA). Cooperation between the Agents enables the service to operate effectively around the clock, every day of the year. Traffic Wales is the public link to the Welsh Government's Traffic Management Centres in Conwy and Cardiff. Traffic Management Centre operations, run by SWTRA and NMWTRA, have a significant positive impact on the effective management of the road network. Operations include monitoring traffic conditions, posting messages to roadside information signs and running the Welsh Government's Traffic Officer Service
The Traffic Wales and Traffic Management Centre services combined work to underpin the Welsh Government's transport responsibilities: developing a world-class transport system to provide safe, affordable and sustainable transport for all.
