Essential carriageway resurfacing of the M4 in both direction between J41 Port Talbot and J42 Briton Ferry will commence on 04/03/2024.
Due to adverse weather conditions throughout the programme, the work schedule has been rearranged.
23 - 26 April and 29 April - 3 May
- Overnight closure from 20:00 - 06:00 between M4 eastbound J42 Earlswood and J41 Pentyla/Baglan.
- During this time as a traffic control measure the M4 J43 eastbound on-slip will be closed.
We will advise of further closures westbound closer to the time.
Please note these dates are subject to change if there's adverse weather.
For eastbound traffic leave the M4 at J42 and continue over the A48 ‘old’ Britton Ferry Bridge to the ‘McDonald’s Roundabout”. Take the 3rd exit and head in a south-easterly direction along the A48 dual carriageway to Sunnycroft Roundabout, near the Bagle Brook Beefeater. Travel through the roundabout and leave at the 3rd exit, past the Bagle Brook Beefeater exit and travel along the M4 on-slip for 1.7Km to join the M4 at J41.
There will be no access to traffic wishing to join the M4 at J43 travelling eastbound. This traffic will be directed onto the M4 travelling westbound until J45 Ynysforgan, when they'll be directed to exit the M4 and re-join at J45 to travel eastbound. This is because there is a J44 westbound off-slip closure ongoing for barrier upgrade works.
