Essential bridge maintenance works are scheduled on Garth Bridge at Cemetery road Taff's Well, necessitating a full road closure of Ffordd Bleddyn at its junction with Cardiff Road. 3 way lights are also required at the junction of Cemetery road and Cardiff Road A4054 for the duration of the work.
The work will be carried out over the 8 weeks period traffic restriction in place 24/7.
3 February - 31 March
- Ffordd Bleddyn (south) road closure at the junction with Cardiff Road A4054.
- Lane closure on Cemetery Road 3 way traffic lights in place.
Diversion (for vehicles under 7.5t)
Vehicles under 7.5t can continue north on Cardiff Road (A4054) to Moy Road and then turn right onto Ffordd Bleddyn. (highlighted Purple on the attached plan).
Diversion (for vehicles over 7.5t)
Vehicles over 7.5 tonnes wishing to access Ffordd Bleddyn from Cardiff Road will be diverted back onto the A470 north to Nantgarw Interchange, west on Caerphilly Road to rejoin Cardiff Road (A4054) in a southernly direction to Moy Road and then turn right onto Ffordd Bleddyn. (highlighted blue on the attached plan).
Pedestrian Diversion Route:
The footpath is closed at the junction of Cemetery Road and Cardiff Road (A4054). Pedestrians are directed to follow the diversion route marked by the green line on the attached map.
Pedestrians should proceed along the designated path running parallel to the A470, following the edge of the industrial and commercial buildings near the railway station.
The diversion concludes at Cemetery Road, where the closed footpath ends. Similarly, in the opposite direction, pedestrians can follow the diversion starting from Cemetery Road and proceed as outlined.
