Essential carriageway surfacing repairs and structural maintenance work.
The scope of works includes :
Replacement of the bridge deck waterproofing, the existing expansion joints, the Densotape to the parapets and replacements of the sealant to the edge beams at the joint locations.
- Resurfacing of the bridge deck.
Cleaning of all structural elements. - Concrete testing.
To facilitate these activities there will be :
- Closure on M4 J32 WB On-Slip ‘night time only’.
- Various Lane Closures on Coryton Gyratory ‘Night Time Only’.
- Footway Closure 24 Hours
Footway Closure
Coryton North - The footbridge reopened to the public on Tuesday, 16th December 2025. Consequently, the temporary bus service ceased on the same day.
Coryton South: Recent adverse weather conditions have caused additional delays to the waterproofing and resurfacing activities. As a result, the contractor is now aiming to reopen the bridge on Friday, 13th February 2026, subject to suitable weather conditions. Further updates will be provided via our social media platforms as more information becomes available.
