Dewi has joined NMWTRA as an apprentice Mechanical and Electrical Engineering as part of a tunnel and technology team.Follow his story below.
I applied to become an apprentice as I saw this as an amazing opportunity for me to gain advice and learn from highly experienced colleagues, whilst having the opportunity to complete a degree study over a period of three years.
An advantage of starting a career as an apprentice is the fact that I have first-hand training and experience with a knit engineer. Also, I am able to further my education.
My job at NMWTRA is an apprentice Mechanical and Electrical Engineering degree as part of a tunnel and technology team and lasts three years.
Learning as much as I can on the job and working hard to be successful in completing my degree with the hope of getting a full-time job.
I have learnt a lot about how the road network is maintained and managed, and have received my first experience in the working world.
I receive support and feedback from my colleagues every day and I also receive extensive proofs and knowledge on the job.
After completing GCSEs I went on to Coleg Llandrillo Menai in Llangefni to complete a Level 3 Electrical Engineering course over a period of two years.
I would highly recommend someone to complete an apprenticeship as it is a great opportunity to learn and work whilst completing a sponsored degree.
