The UX/UR Team at Welsh Government would like to engage with Users of Traffic Wales in order to gather your views on how to improve your User Experience (UX) and to understand the needs and challenges of all users.
The idea is to engage with a broad range of users with different needs to ensure the usability of the Traffic Wales Website and App works for everyone. The UR/UX Lab Team will be conducting the User Research on behalf of the Traffic Wales Team.
Your participation in this research is completely voluntary, however the views and experiences of officials are important in order to help inform a digital service that works for all Users.
As part of the research the UR/UX Lab Team will need to collect the following personal and special category information:
• name
• work e-mail
• any impairments that may affect how you use the digital service
• your image (photo or video)
• Your voice (video and/or audio)
The Welsh Government is the data controller for the personal data. The lawful basis for processing information in this exercise is our public task, that is, exercising our official authority to undertake the core role and functions of the Welsh Government.
Where the information amounts to special category data we will process it “in the substantial public interest of ensuring equality of opportunity” as set out in the GDPR Guidance.
Any personal data you provide for this research won’t be shared outside of the UR/UX Lab Team or members from the Traffic Wales Team. This data will not be used by them or Welsh Government for any other purpose.
The possible activities that you could be involved in are filling out a Survey, a User Interview and/or Usability Testing session.
The UR/UX Lab Team would like to record Virtual Interviews and Usability Tests (a technique used to test services with Users). This will be made clear to you before the session. If you do not want to be recorded you will have the option to choose not to be at the beginning of the interview or test session. You will still be able to take part and you will not be identifiable from your comments.
If you choose to provide further personal data as part of the research we will not identify you from, or link your identity to, the responses you provide. If you raise a query or complaint and provide personal data requesting a response, the researcher will forward the request only to the relevant official and subsequently delete it from the research data.
Recordings will be deleted as soon as the Traffic Wales Team has been given all suggestions and the recordings are no longer needed. Personal data will not be included in the final report and will be removed at analysis stage of the Usability Testing. Any personal data not already removed will be deleted three months after the end of the project.
